About Brad | Brad Edwards, Realtor

BRAD EDWARDS

"Not all those who wander are lost."

J.R.R. Tolkien (The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring )

The journey for Brad Edwards to become a real estate agent was long, eventful and unexpected, and it was worth every step. Although he grew up and attended college in the South, he has now lived in New England for more than half his life. He knows Connecticut well, having lived in seven different cities or towns and three different counties.

Brad moved to Bristol, CT in 1996 to work as a researcher for ESPN. As his knowledge and experience increased, his role expanded to include regular appearances on TV shows such as SportsCenter and radio shows such as College GameDay, which he co-hosted for 11 seasons. Over his final years there, his focus was using advanced stats and analytics to tell stories.

That type of perspective on players, coaches and teams is what ultimately led him to write a book in 2021, titled Dynasty by the Numbers, that details the dominance of the Alabama football program under Nick Saban.

Statistics may seem to go more naturally with sports than with real estate, but Brad has found the fit. Property transactions generate a lot of data, and for someone who loves sifting through numbers to find what’s most meaningful and useful, real estate provides a giant playground.

During his career in sports, Brad often said that the only drawback to his job was that it didn’t help other people. As a realtor, he can now accomplish that end… and do it, in part, with information.

Since turning 40, he has focused a lot on learning, including two years of theology school for which he has a Certificate of Biblical Studies. He is also a big fan of the writings of J.R.R. Tolkien, specifically The Lord of the Rings and The Silmarillion

Brad lives in Avon, CT with his wife, Andi. They have a son and three daughters and can always claim at least one West Highland White Terrier as part of the family, too.
